We’re inviting you to join myself & Brad for a walk through one of the most scenic routes in the Midlands — the Charnwood Peaks.

This walk is about more than covering miles. It’s about a shared challenge, good conversation, and getting out into the kind of landscape that naturally resets your head.

The Route

We’ll be tackling the classic Charnwood Peaks circular route, a long but rewarding loop that takes in hills, woodland, open countryside, and historic landmarks. Expect a full day on your feet, steady pacing, and plenty of time to take it all in.

The terrain is varied and engaging, with climbs that test you and views that make them worth it.

Route Highlights

Bradgate Park

One of Leicestershire’s most iconic landscapes. Open parkland, roaming deer, and a sense of history that’s hard to miss. It’s the perfect place to settle into the walk and enjoy the space around you.

Old John Tower

Standing proudly above Bradgate Park, Old John Tower is a well-known local landmark. From here, the views stretch out across the surrounding countryside and make a natural pause point on the route.

Beacon Hill

One of the highest points in Leicestershire, Beacon Hill delivers big views and a real sense of elevation. On a clear day, you can see for miles.

Bardon Hill

The highest point on the route and the tallest hill in the National Forest. The climb is steady and satisfying, and reaching the top feels earned.

Vale of Charley & Billa Barra

Quieter sections that wind through woodland and lesser-known trails. These stretches are perfect for conversation, reflection, and soaking up the atmosphere.

What to Expect on the Day

  • A steady, supportive group pace led by Redders

  • Plenty of encouragement and shared experience

  • Mixed terrain including hills, tracks, and woodland paths

  • Time to talk, think, and challenge yourself

Make sure you bring good walking boots, food, water, and clothing suitable for changeable weather.

What You’ll Get Out of It

You’ll finish the day with tired legs, a clear head, and a sense of achievement that only comes from doing something properly worthwhile.

This walk is about building resilience, connection, and confidence — all without pressure or expectation. Just turn up, put one foot in front of the other, and be part of it.

The walk is completely free to join.

Keep an eye out for final joining details and timings — we’d love to have you with us.
